Summer is upon us and that means more tourist flooding into Los Angeles in record numbers. Having lived in Los Angeles a better part of twenty years, I have come to learn where I have spotted more rock stars than anywhere. I wanted to share them with you if you are planning on a trip and are hoping to see some famous rockers. I can tell you my experience with rock star sightings have been during the week and not on the weekends. If you are planning a trip to LA these are a not to be missed for your best chance to catch a rock star sighting.
The Rainbow Bar and Grill 9015 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069
This legendary hangout is known for luring 1970s and '80s rockers. Some of the ones I have seen there have been Slash, Lemmy ( now deceased) from Motorhead. If you happen to go, try a Tuesday or Wednesday night the odds will be much better to get a celebrity sighting. Where can they be found? Eating in the dining room. And if a band is in town that you like, don't miss going there at some point, chances are you will see them eating or having a drink the day before their show.
Canters Deli located at 419 N Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036
Canters is open 24 hours and they have had more celebrity sightings they can be counted. Big names like Gun's and Roses have a history with the place. Bono was just recently spotted there at 2:00 a.m. having a sandwich. If you can name them, they have more than likely been there. There is no specific time to go for a "sighting" but again during the week is always better and your chances are always higher.
The Apple Pan 10801 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064. It is the best burger place in town, they have been there for 70+ years and I have never been in there when a limo has not pulled up to the door and a driver has come in to pick-up to go orders. It's an amazing small little U-shaped counter only burger joint. Bring cash ( no credit cards) Chances are better than most you will spot someone famous. It has been a favorite of Bono, and Howard Stern is a regular when in Los Angeles, not to mention 1/2 of Hollywood celebrities love the place.
Good luck on spotting the rockers when in Los Angeles, and if you do let me know I would love to add your stories. Kris
